Testimonials
Here is what our Previous students have had to say about the course
Laura Brown - NHS, Mental Health Nurse
The course has helped Laura to expand her knowledge in her profession, and build confidence, which enables her to advise colleagues and help improve the outcomes for the young people with whom they work.
She also enjoyed the fact that the teachers and speakers were from different backgrounds; not just professionals. Laura felt that this gave a better learning experience.
“My colleagues that I work with – They see me as an expert, so they come to me for advice”.
Michelle Kelly - Counsellor, Adult Mental Health Nursing
After her family being affected by knife crime when she was younger, Michelle is dedicated to helping others, and her community. She enjoyed the fact that the course was taught from different perspectives, including speakers with “lived experience”.
Michelle was somewhat apprehensive when COVID-19 hit, and was concerned about how it may affect the course. But felt that our response was “well executed” and “well adjusted”.
“I thoroughly enjoyed it”
Rachel Warren - Teacher and Knife Crime Campaigner
Rachel said that as a teacher, people assume that those in youth work and social work already know about these issues. But that’s not necessarily the case.
“not only interesting, educational and informative; I found it really enjoyable!”
